Synopsis:

The beginning- A point in time or space where something starts.
32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving child hood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn’t control no matter how hard he tried.
Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn’t have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her insuring her success as a VIP.
There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and drug use. Intended for mature audiences.

Review:

Man oh man...this was an amazing story filled with love, lust, intense heart break, and betrayal. I knew from the very first chapter that this was not your run of the mill hearts and flowers romance. I loved how the book was set up. In most books, the characters start in the present and we get thrown into flashbacks of memeories to show us how they became the way they are. This book starts from the early childhood of both characters, which really makes you connect with them and gives you a front row seat to each of their journeys. Ms. Robinson did a fantastic job with character building and I really felt a bond with Ysabelle and Sebastian. I had twisted love/hate emotions for Sebastian...one minute I thought he was a selfish bastard and the next minute I was rooting for him like a frantic cheerleader. I absolutely loved Ysabelle for so many reasons. She was unlike any other typical whiny weak female character that pines for pity. She was a no-holds-bar relentless bitch that took all the shit parts of her life and used them to push her to conquer, no matter what. She stayed tough the only way she knew how, which was to keep emotions and people out, even though you can clearly see, deep down she was a truely broken girl.

"I had the strongest brick wall built by man. My brick wall was built by me, one brick at a time. Nobody could fucking knock down my wall. I wouldn't allow it. that's why I kept the people in my life at bay. I didn't need emotional bullshit, never did."- Ysabelle

Sebastian had a nice clean cut upbringing and loved his best friend Julia since the day she was born...literally, he was two years old and was there in the hospital to share their first kiss the day she was born. His neat life suddenly became a jumbled mess at the ripe ol' age of ten, when he met Julia's adopted sister Olivia for the first time. He knew even then, that his life would never be the same. They had an instant connection that differed immensely from the connection he shared with Julia. To prevent hurt feelings or favoritism, Sebastian and Olivia kept their feelings a secret all throughout their childhood and into their teenage years. He loved both girls, just in different ways. He couldn't figure out a way to be with Olivia and not hurt Julia, so he was stuck...either way someone would get hurt. Sebastian and Olivia wanted to be together so much that it became painful. Olivia couldn't handle the pain anymore and tragedy struck in the most devastating way. This left Sebastian an empty shell of a man that struggled with his anger and guilt. Julia was there to pick up the pieces, and through their shared tragedy, they consoled each other. They became a couple, then got married, and had a baby boy. Everything seemed to be perfect in paradise, until one night that would change his life forever.

"I wanted to run to her, shake her, and tell her she was Olivia. That she was mine. I knew in my mind that she wasn't Olivia, but my heart kept telling me that she was. I hadn't felt these feelings in years. I was so torn. I need to know her."-Sebastian

Ysabelle was dealt a really crappy hand in life. Growing up poor is one thing, but she had a shitty mom who didn't care about her at all. She was mearily a food stamp ticket for her mother to use for her drugs. Ysabelle's mother was a prostitute that sold her body for drugs and money. She was truely alone in the world in every sense of the word. She hid from her home because she was unsafe and then went to school, just to be teased and tormented even further. She learned from a very early age to depend on no one but herself. She used what she knew to survive, until she turned sixteen and left her crappy mother and life behind. She moved to Miami with a back pack and $100.00 that she earned by graciously taking a guy's virginity from him. Lady Luck decided to throw her a bone that day. That bone was named Devon. He offered her a job in his bar and a place to stay, no questions asked. He was her savior and life line, until she met Madam. Madam swooped into her life and provided her with a world she never thought she would have...she became a VIP. She thought she was happy and fulfilled with her life on top, until one chance meeting and a life altering phone call.

"It all started with that damn phone call. I should have known better. I should have done a lot of things other than meet with him. I didn't. I answered the phone. I accepted the date. And I changed the course of my life. I met with Sebastian Vanwell."-Ysabelle

Sebastian and Ysabelle's relationship or affair if you will, was a whirlwind of confusion, lust, and eventually love. It might have began with Sebastian being consumed with the uncanny likeness Ysabelle had to Olivia, but it quickly changed into an intense magnetic pull that couldn't be denied. The first few meetings started off innocently enough, in terms of the escort business I guess. I never thought I would say this, but it was so sweet when Ysabelle didn't tell her Madam there were some added services during one of their "dates". It wasn't like she was giving him a freebie or anything...it was a subconciense way of her saying he was different from the others. This was all new territory for both of them, because he was married and she didn't do emotions. The develpment of their relationship was flawlessly done. I was enthralled and couldn't stop reading. Their relationship was a mess that was destined to end with messy broken hearts. Could he ever finally be with the woman he felt he was destined to be with? Or will the broken pieces left from the destruction be unmendable?

"I'm with you baby that's what I'm doing. You're in my arms and I want you to stay there. I don't want the VIP. I want you. I want this."-Sebastian

"I don't even know what that means."-Ysabelle

"It means that I don't want to stay away from you. It means that I don't want you to stay away from me. Be with me Ysa, just like this. Every time we are together I want you just this way. I want Ysa. Can you do that for me?"-Sebastian

I adored this story from it's beautiful destructivness, down to the emotionally charged connection of these unbelievable characters. The ending was a bit of a dirty tease *insert unladylike grunt*. I sure hope there will be another book or at least a novella to finish up the story. I was torn when it came down to rating this book because I truly loved this book in it's entirety. The only thing that prevented me from giving it the five stars I deeply wanted to give it, was the fustrating grammatical errors. I agree with the other reviews in this aspect. I am not generally that strict when it comes to occasional errors in grammar, but I had to reread so many parts because they didn't make any sense. I wish I could have been a beta reader for this one, because a good meticulous editing would've really thrust this book from being really good to being incredibly GREAT! Despite my intense furstration with this fact, I was thoroughly satisfied with this story. It was a refreshing, twisted, scorching hot journey to true love!

4 out of 5 Fustrating, Sizzling, Please Madam may I have another, Stars!

Book Update: I wrote this review based on the ARC copy of the book I received (not always the edited version). I have been happily informed by the author that it has been edited. Woo whoo...this will definitely raise this book to Incredibly Awesome! Go read it already ;)
