Blog Tour & Giveaway: Love of a Rockstar by Nicole Simone

Marlene Parker thought she met her soul mate at eighteen but when he left her pregnant and alone to pursue a life of rock n roll, she vowed to never love again. Now four years later, she is being offered the dream of a lifetime. Moving to France with her daughter to start anew. There is only one problem. Marlene’s formative ex is back in town, and his pull is strong as ever.

Luke Anderson has everything a man could want. Fame, fortune and enough beautiful women to last him a lifetime. That is until a young runaway shows him what is truly important. Family. A word in which plagues Luke with regret. As a scared twenty two year old he ran away from the love of his life and their unborn child. Now ready to reverse his biggest regret with only three days to do it, Luke’s fate hangs in the balance. The question is, will he be able to convince Marlene their love story deserves a second chance?

It was so nice to get back to a tatted rocker book...it's been a hot minute. I really enjoyed the whole concept of the young girl left alone with not only a broken heart but a baby to raise alone after the love of her life left her to go pursue his rocker dream. There was good sexual tension, a love triangle to cause lots of emotional drama, and the added wild card of the adorable little girl that has never met her father. These are some of the reasons why I kept reading and also to find the love of a rockstar of course (pun intended). When Luke struts back into Marlene's life she fights with her emotions that get all stirred up at just the mere sight of him. The lust is wafting through the air when they are together, but Marlene has years of built up anger towards Luke when he abandoned her and their daughter four years before. I love a good battle of wills and lust, so I was ready and waiting for the inevitable inhibitions to be thrown out the window.

"In all seriousness though, you're perfect exactly how you are." I can't believe I walked out on the best thing that has ever happened to me." -Luke

Marlene had a pretty steady life going for her. She had a job, a beautiful daughter who she loved, and a "kind of" boyfriend who treated her well. So when Luke comes back, he doesn't just cause ripples in her calm waters, he comes crashing in with waves of remembered passion. Marlene soon discovers during her short reunion with Luke, that she can't simply shut him out for her selfish bruised heart, their daughter deserved to know her father. Letting Luke meet with their daughter, brought up old feelings and unearthed new ones that melted down her icy barricade when she saw him interact with their daughter. This Luke seemed to be so different from the one who left them behind. His track record kept blaring up in huge neon lights, however...he left before so what stops him from leaving again?

"I don't always say the right thing but the past four years I have lived my life for you so I could come home and stop being an observer. M, I don't make sense without you." -Luke"

So after Marlene finally accepts that perhaps she can forgive him and has been flirting with the idea of finally being a family, her current boyfriend throws out an opportunity she never thought she could pass up. The battle begins to run rapid...safety and contentment with her current boyfriend or fiery passionate love that comes with dangerous possible heart breaking risks. Add in her daughter's insta-love for her newfound father and Marlene becomes a tornado of emotions.

"He fitted his hand over mine. 'I promise you I won't do that again. Your heart is safe with me.'
As much as I wanted to believe him, there was no guarantees in life. He could leave on tour and never come back. But as I looked into his eyes, there was one thing I was sure of: Luke was worth a thousand heartbreaks." -Marlene

Well, I can say that all in all, I was pleased with this read. I have a delicious love/hate relationship with the whole "I must stay away from him because he is far too dangerous" kind of sexual tension in a book. It can easily become annoying for me if it draws out too long, but if done right, it keeps me glued to my Kindle for all the right reasons. This one was done just right for me. The main thing holding back the stars a bit was that the ending felt way too rushed. The time they spent together was so limited and then by the end where everything finally came together, I was left a little bereft and wanting more. The meat of the book was really good though and I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers.

Luke worked his fingers into my hair and tilted my head back. He placed small kisses down along my neck to the hollow of my throat. I closed my eyes, savoring the feel of his mouth on my skin.

“You smell like cinnamon.” He gently nipped my shoulder. “And you taste like vanilla. You are a God damn walking dessert.”

A small laugh turned into a moan as his thumb brushed my nipple. Heat pooled in my lower stomach. I tugged at his shirt, desperate to get it off him. There were too many clothes separating us.

Luke stilled my hand. “No, wait.”

I glanced up at him. Last I remembered, you didn’t wear clothes during sex. “No?”
My head grew dizzy with the smell of pure male as his lips grazed my ear. “I want to take things slow.” He unbuttoned my jeans and dragged down the zipper. When he caught sight of the bright pink hearts on my thong, a slow grin spread across his face. “There’s nothing sexier than a woman in pink.”

Capturing my mouth with his, he backed me up against the wall. Every nerve ending in my body screamed for release. I titled my hips into his hardness, eliciting a groan from both our lips.

“Luke, please,” I begged. “I need you inside me.”
