When he keeps running into his sister-in-law’s best friend, Kamryn, he can’t ignore that she makes him feel more with just one look than his wife ever has; and soon he can’t continue fight his feelings for her.

When staying apart proves to be too difficult, Brody and Kamryn enter a relationship full of stolen moments and nights that end too soon while they wait for Brody to file for divorce. But the guilt that comes with their relationship may prove to be too much for Kamryn, and Brody might not be strong enough to face the tragedy from his past in order to leave his conniving wife.

Review:

Well hot damn, Molly McAdams never fails to deliver an enticing book. After reading the blurb, I was prepared for the married man love triangle, but this story was not your typical kind of affair. Brody was quite literally trapped in his marriage by a conniving wench who used every kind of manipulation you could think of to keep him in his place. If that wasn't enough to keep my Kindle glued to my hand, there was also Kamryn's back story. She had her own secrets and skeletons she was running from. Molly McAdams sure knows how to stir up my emotions. Who knew I would be the demented cheerleader for Brody to cheat on his wife and get a piece of Kamryn!

"No, KC...God, no. This is a weird situation, trust me, I know. I've been at war with myself with what I know is right, and what I don't think I can live without. I do not want an affair. I don't know what something between us could be called, but that word doesn't do what's happening between us justice. But I know that my marriage is over, I know I want you more than I want my next breath, and I know I would be insane to walk out that door and away from you."

How can you say no to that? Kamryn and Brody had an instant soul-touching-connection at first sight. They were drawn to each other no matter how hard they fought it. Brody was married only in the technical sense and as soon as he looked at Kamryn, it was all over for him. He was ready to finally cut the cord on his faux marriage. He had only stayed so long because of the overwhelming guilt he felt for what happened to his wife so many years ago. Brody tells her he is going to leave his wife as soon as he gets her the help she desperately needs. So why not wait till the divorce is final to hook up you ask? Well the more time they spent together, the harder it was to find the logical sense to wait (those damn raging hormone, always getting their way in the end). Brody and Kamryn begin their relationship behind closed doors, and Kamryn not-so-patiently waits for Brody to leave his wife so they can start on their own future.

"I knew I had no right--since technically, Brody wasn't mine--and I knew it only made it harder for both of us, but that didn't stop me from begging him to stay. My pleas never made a difference, because we both knew he had to leave. But it was in those moments, as I begged Brody no to go back to his wife, that I felt exactly like what I was. A mistress. A home-wrecker. The other woman. And every time he left another part of me died."

Even though, Kamryn continued to feel like she was a home-wrecker, everybody knew that that home was wrecked from the very beginning. Kamryn merely finally gave Brody the motivation to leave those broken pieces behind and move on. Brody's wife's behavior becomes even more erratic making him sure that she is very sick and needs help...or is she? At the same time, Kamryn struggles with all the lies that keep piling up on her from her present and her past. The shadows of her past soon to come to light. Will Brody be able to finally leave his wife for good and look past all of the deceit? Will Kamryn's past end up turning the tables on her, where she has to fight for Brody's trust again? With all the lies and manipulation going on, can they both see past all of it, to see their love still buried deep beneath? Do they finally get their chance at a HEA? Ahhh...there are really so many more dimensions to this story than just the basic married-man-having-an-affair. It definitely kept me on my toes.

"I am yours, Brody," she whispered and tried to step back from me. " But you're not mine. You never were. I can't keep being the mistress in a relationship that I give my all to, when you're only giving me a fraction of yourself."

As a whole, I really enjoyed this book. The naughty affair, sexual tension, and all the dirty secrets kept me fully engaged. The characters had depth, which made their connection even stronger. It wasn't all good emotions felt though...I truly detested Brody's wife. Her sense of morals were deeply misconstrued, and her manipulation had no bounds. This wasn't the first book I read from Molly McAdams, so I knew I was up for a treat. I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers out there.

Author Low Down:
Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm ... or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
